Meet Robert Rende, M.D.

Recently, with Dr. Miller's retirement, Dr. Rende has taken over The Eye Center. Dr. Rende has been practicing Ophthalmology for over fifteen years. He is fellowship trained in Laser Refractive Surgery and has performed thousands of Lasik Procedures.

A native of the San Francisco area, Dr. Rende completed his undergraduate studies at Stanford University where he received a Bachelors of Science Degree with Honors in Biology. Dr. Rende received his Medical degree from Tulane University in 1989. He then completed the following post-graduate training:

Internship • AMI Hospitals, Denver, CO Residency • University of California, Irvine Fellowship • Laser Eye Center, Los Angeles

Dr. Rende has a vast experience in medical and surgical eye care. He has performed thousands of laser refractive, cataract and general Ophthalmology procedures. He even had Lasik performed on his own eyes and now sees a perfect 20/20 in each eye.

Dr. Rende is proud to offer Laser Vision Correction to qualified candidates, with the assurance that all patients will receive the most reasonable and safest treatment possible. Dr. Rende is committed to patient satisfaction and quality care. He does not participate in capitated managed care, preferring to offer patients the benefits of the old-fashioned doctor-patient relationship, even as he offers them the latest in laser technology. It is this conservative approach to all aspects of his practice, including Laser Vision Correction, that enables Dr. Rende's patients to achieve excellent results and a high level of satisfaction.

Dear patients and friends of The Eye Center,

I would like to thank you for allowing me the distinct privilege of serving as your eye doctor over the last 16 years.

It is with both joy and sadness that I announce that The Eye Center has changed hands. As many of you know, The Eye Center is the premier eye care center in East County, and we now serve 3rd and 4th generation patients! Many of you can remember when I took over from Dr. Cody Smith in 1992.

I am pleased to introduce Dr. Robert Rende, who will now be taking the reins. I have had the opportunity to get to know him and I am sure that he will continue to provide you with the excellent care, personal attention, and integrity that you have come to associate with our practice. I am confident that you will enjoy meeting Dr. Rende. We look forward to seeing you at your next appointment.

A Message from Dr. Rende

Dear patients and friends of the Eye Center,

I am delighted to have the opportunity to become your new Ophthalmologist! I feel fortunate to have been selected by Dr. Miller and to have inherited his wonderful staff. Rest assured that I will provide you with the very best care, friendliness, and personal attention that you have come to expect from the Eye Center.

I was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and completed my undergraduate studies at Stanford University. I received my Medical Degree from Tulane University in New Orleans. My interest in Ophthalmology began during medical school, where I became fascinated with the precision and intricacy of ophthalmic microsurgery. I completed my Ophthalmology residency training at the University of California in Irvine. I then spent five years as an Active Duty Ophthalmologist in the U.S. Army, during which time I obtained a vast experience in medical and surgical eye care. Following my Honorable Discharge from the Army, I have gone on to perform thousands of laser refractive, cataract and general ophthalmology procedures.

It is with great excitement that I now take up residence in El Cajon. I look forward to meeting you and your family and friends!
